The cigarette company owner cum kidnapper(read as Lalith Modi),it seems is trying to model himself as a dictator. No issues from my side because Adolf Hitler with human values would make a perfect role model for me.But someone who has shamelessly taken all the credit as the BRAIN behind IPL(remember Essel group's ICL was the first seed to sprout) is now trying to dictate terms all over the world in the name of a cash rich IPL.Not only should ICL players be banned, but the cigarette company owner demands that no Indian player should play alongside them.An awfully out of form Piyush Chawla was forced to squander a chance to get back into form by playing county cricket(remember Zaheer Khan). My condolence to VVS & Agarkar too on the same issue.
Here having followed cricket right from my childhood & having unconditionally loved her so far i feel disgusted.Even when India was some 150/9 chasing 400 against the Aussies i have never changed the channel.Where does the cigarette company owners priorities lie?Is it the upliftment of Indian cricket or in a broader sense the game of cricket?Though i enjoy the bikini cricket(T20) i am a purist by heart & i am sure true cricket lovers would love to watch quality test cricketers.I remember the kidnapper giving an interview on the eve of the IPL finals. He said he's seriously tired after attending almost all the IPL matches & hasn't seen his family all these days.Let me ask you Lalith Modi , have you attended a single domestic match?Isn't a Ranji Trophy match the perfect place for a BCCI official to be at?While spending lakhs buying 50 odd blazers to wear all through the IPL did you ever think of the condition of the cricket stadiums here?
You used all your powers to please Sharukh Khan by preventing a dope test done on Akhtar(who reportedly carried syringes to Kolkata).Even when you didn't have time to meet your family you found time to talk crap on NDTV with Katrina Kaif. Now you want IPL twice an year. You also want a Champions League. An year later may be you would say ICL players should be hanged.A player like MS Dhoni is skipping test cricket to rest(leave domestic cricket).Tendulkar chose Mumbai Indians over the national team.Having grown up dreaming of playing test cricket at Lord's the Sri Lankan's are fighting with their board to play IPL skipping the English summer.Spinners will be soon extinct in this country & the best players of spin will be regularly foxed by amatuer spinners(oops they already struggle against fast bowling). You created a stage where the audience booed off a Rahul Dravid. You gifted the playboy(aka yuvraj singh)a Porsche 911 for hitting six 6's as if the test cricketers had done lesser deeds.
Mr Lalith Modi you will be remebered ,but for all the disservice you did to Indian cricket. If at all you can contribute something beneficial that would be to step down as the BCCI vice president. We understand a once upon a time kidnapper & drug addict can't do any better. We understand power & money are intoxicating.Even we would love to be in your position.
But we would hopefully put cricket first!!!
Welcome

Yeah...u r right...i agree wit whatever u had written...very true...honest opinion..
i agree with you totally on the ICL. the BCCI is acting so immaturely n monopolistically that you cannot believe that what they are doing is legal.
but i feel you have been a bit harsh in other places
Lalith Modi, whatever his past and occupation, did head the organization of a very successfull event. The scale of the IPL n the time frame for its prep were grossly mismatched. But they pulled it off very well. It was a management feat without doubt. And a very profitable one 2.
What remains to be seen is whether those profits will be well used. If they are not then your tirade will b fully justified. But i ll wait till then
what i feel worried about is that cigarette companies are allowed to sponsor the event!
they must be kept out of this!
