Yesterday i happened to watch the program "WE THE PEOPLE" in NDTV.The topic for debate was inevitably BLOGS.Should rules & regulations apply to blogs??Is the author accountable for the contents??If TV programs & newspaper contents are subject to censorship why not blogs??The topic was debated upon and majority claimed it shouldn't be!Eminent bloggers ,journalists a psychatrist and an advocate who is in charge of cyber crimes let their piece of opinion.

Well ,but i beg to DIFFER.As put forward by one of the panelists blogs are the means by which the Fundamental Right "Right to freedom of speech" can be exercised perfectly(thumps down to the censorship on tv & cinema).I AGREE!A common reason which i found during the show as well as on many other blogs is that the viewer has a choice to read the kind of blogs he/she wants.But what bamboozles me is that why it doesn't apply to TV or cinema???The viewer has a choice!! Doesn't all of us have the freedom to choose which tv channel to watch and which cinema to waste your money on(with due respect to all good cinemas which are negligible in number which could be ignored{engineering life/maths has taken its toll on me})??With technology ruling the roost children can be prevented from watching certain channels which are objectionable.So what's the issue??One reason for guidelines imposed on TV and cinema is that ,this very medium can be used to defame personalities.I guess that is something which is happening in majority of the blogs.So in this internet age (18 million internet users out of the 22 million check blogs according to the channel) aren't these blogs accountable under the same jurisdiction??
